Tonight, through my lack of sleep, I’m reminded of the power of the Holy Spirit through the use of Holy Water to bless and keep us from the works of the Enemy.* We have authority over the Enemy in, under, and through Christ’s perfect authority. We don’t have to submit ourselves to our Accuser’s plan of attachments and entanglements through physical objects or places such as a hotel room, hotel, airport, or the city it resides in.

Prayer to cleanse hotel room using holy water:
“Almighty God, I ask you to send your angels to be with me in this place, and protect me from all assaults of the Evil One. Please forgive any wrong that has been perpetuated in this room, and grant those who offend you the grace of conversion. Dispel the powers of darkness which may be in this room and protect me this night, and those who will sleep here in the forthcoming nights. Jesus I trust in You!.”
From the Night Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours:
“Lord, we [or I] beg you to visit this house [room] and banish from it all the deadly power of the enemy. May your holy angels dwell here to keep us in peace, and may your blessings be upon us always. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”**
Christ has died! Christ has risen! Christ will come again! May you and yours be blessed and kept from the Devil and his works. May all hindrances in our places and spaces go up, out, and onto the Cross of Christ!

“Please forgive any wrong that has been perpetuated in this room, and grant those who offend you the grace of conversion.” This really touched me. What offenses God endures! What wisdom in acknowledging and apologizing for them. Such a noble transcendent statement; to acknowledge the holiness of God and our deep private broken selves and to summon His grace to resolve it all.

I don’t know about the power of holy water, but water is for cleansing, and the symbolism is appropriate. Prayer is most certainly a great idea.
I was largely raised Protestant, but due to travel, Ive huddled w/ most parts of the Church. I was not used to the icons of the Eastern church or RC. Until I was in situations that broke my rational boundaries: I was inEstonia during the coup, in Russian prisons where men were tortured, on islands w/ headhunters in the South Seas.
All I can say is G-d broke my paradigm by being in the center of events where there is only faith in His supernatural abilities, where He is the only hope. I am learning that while there is no inherent power in oil, water, incense etc. G-d has chosen to use the physical to unleash the spiritual as it is empowered by Him. Thanks for your writings btw!
