China’s Cultural Revolution

https://wp.me/p3Ahx0-3q9

Dear ones, this post struck me deeply. My wife taught English to professors in China decades ago. This time period, the Cultural Revolution, and Tiannmen Square, were taboo subjects for her friends and students.

The only ones who seemed to remember China’s painful chapters of history we’re considered “dissidents”. What will we do with cultural shame? What will we do with our complicity with political, social, and inward evil?

May we name the shame of our histories, Sovereign One! Will You take it up, out, and onto the Cross of Christ? Will You give our nations a new birth of freedom, and revival of our dead consciences? Come Lord Jesus, Hope of the Nations! Come Messiah, and save us from ourselves!
